THE EFFECT OF ANEMIA PREVENTION BEHAVIOR ON ANEMIA SYMPTOMS IN PREGNANT WOMEN IN THE WORKING AREA OF THE PEKAN HERAN PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER IN 2024

Abstrak

Anemia is a blood disorder or hematological disorder that occurs when hemoglobin levels (the main part of red blood cells that bind oxygen) are below normal. So this research refers to discussing whether there is an influence of anemia prevention behavior on anemia symptoms in pregnant women in the Pekan Heran Community Health Center Working Area in 2024. To find out whether or not there is an influence of anemia prevention behavior on anemia symptoms in pregnant women in the Pekan Heran Community Health Center Working Area in 2024. Using Quantitative research methods and the population in this study were pregnant women in the Pekan Heran Community Health Center Working Area, West Rengat District, totaling 79 people. The results of this research were that the majority prevented anemia, amounting to 76 respondents (96%) and did not prevent anemia, amounting to 3 respondents (3.7%). Prevention of anemia in pregnant women can be done with appropriate health behavior. Of the 79 respondents from pregnant women, there were 11 respondents (13.9%) who experienced anemia symptoms and 68 respondents (86%) who did not experience anemia symptoms. Symptoms of anemia are lethargy and dizziness, feeling tired, feeling weak, indigestion and loss of appetite. Health behaviors such as maintaining a diet high in iron, regularly consuming iron tablets, and doing ANC during early pregnancy can reduce the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women. Diet is an important factor that pregnant women must pay attention to.
